WOYWW 221

Well Good Morning All, this was my worktop at 9.am on Tuesday morning!
Completely clear except for the usual UFO's lurking on the window sill.
I know we are supposed to be showing Wednesday's worktop, but that never works if we are to get our posts at the wonderful Julia's on Wednesday. For those who don't know who the wonderful Julia is, just pop over to Stamping ground and see all the people who display their worktops on a Wednesday.

I had  a massive clear up because  my daughter, son in law and grandson are coming tomorrow and it really was so messy that I couldn't work, so I cleared the lot.
It didn't stay cleared for very long and very soon I had a Get Well card on the go, and two UFOs on their way to being FOs, with just a little bit of help!

I don't know if anyone remembers a card I was working on a couple of weeks ago with red flowers on, but I finished it as a twisted easel and sent it on its way, but thought I would just put a finished pic on here, especially for Karen who asked about it.
And finally by way of an appeal for help, as you can see on my worktop, under the feet of the cat,  and below, I have been going to town a bit with the Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish die and have been using Crafter's Companion repositionable spray to fix the die cuts to my cards, but they don't stay and I wonder if anyone had any idea what I could be doing wrong. I spray them thoroughly and allow them 30 seconds to get tacky and then apply them, but they just keep peeling off.

Well that's all for now, I'll see you all on Stamping ground bright and early on Wednesday morning.
Happy WOYWW
Chris

  1. Some lovely cards, sorry i can't help with the crafter companion spray. I tried it once quite a while back & didn't like it. I'm sure one will be long soon that will be able to help . Happy woyww Jill #53

  2. Good morning, Chris. I just went into shock when seeing your first photo - help, I thought, Chris must be unwell! But with relief I saw the rest - things back on your desk - even WITH the family arriving today. I love that flower card as a twisted easel - tutorial please next time I see you! I used spots of glue when positioning that gorgeous flourish cutout, (which I made several times when you were away and you let me loose with your bigshot. Ahem!!)
Everything has stayed put - as far as I know - not had any complaints yet, anyway.
Have a great time with the family. See you Monday for coffee.

  3. Hi Chris! Can't help with the sticky stuff problem I'm afraid. Like the card though. Hope you had a good time with the family, and look forward to seeing you on Monday. Just one comment on your website, if I may. I find your pale yellowish lettering used when its a link quite hard to see. A brighter, perhaps red, might be more of a contrast with the muted green background. God bless, John-W #35

  4. No help from me either - sorry. Never used it - I have one of those sticks that look like a lipstick (bright pink) - Glue Gloss (from Oyster Stamps) for my die cuts.
Love the photo of Max's beautiful bushy tail and you have some lovely cards there.

  6. Chris, not sure what you're asking about the glue. If it's repositionable, it's supposed to be able to peel off. I really like those cards, though. And your adorable "helper," too. Max is gorgeous.

You asked if there were more than Bleubeard and me who live in my house. YES! About 450 rocking horses, but no humans. Thanks for asking and for visiting me already.

    1. Thanks for visiting and your kind comments about my cards.
The glue I am using is a spray glue that can be used for all those really fiddly bits, such as the flourish I have on my card. They call it repositionable because it is supposed to be tacky 30 seconds after it is sprayed and can be repositioned for about three minutes thereafter, at which point it is supposed to be permanent. It was recommended by a friend who uses it all the time for bits she cuts out with her Silhouette Cameo. However when I follow the instructions to the letter, the stuff does not become permanent, the flourish on the card at the bottom had to be reglued with something completely different this morning.
I have contacted the manufacturer who are sending me another can, we'll see how that goes.

  10. I'm not sure about the spray glue but I thought if you stuck it down right away it was permanent and if you waited 30 seconds to stick it down that made it re-positionable. I liked the photo of your furry helper, so cute! That first photo is downright shocking though, so much emptiness.

  11. The twisted easel card is fabulous, wish I could do things like that. Shame about the glue, I'm no help, I usually glue myself to things! Enjoy your visitors.
