WOYWW 251

Good morning all you wonderful Woywwers.
Today I'm going to be good and keep this short to please the Lady Julia who hosts this wonderful crafty community.
So on my desk you will see that, having chanced on Dianne's WOYWW last week, where she was stamping after bleaching, I had a go at stamping with bleach, with varying success. What I did find was that the images and words that you can stamp with bleach need to be fairly bold with clear lines. As as result, I have only managed really successfully with the  sentiment 'Thinking of You' as the Happy Birthday and other sentiments have not come out very well. (Never mind I will have lots of bereavement card available when I have finished) It is well worth having a go this technique because the results can be amazing. Stamping on the brown produced the most wonderful bronze images and the stamped image on the purple is almost silver.
Well that's me for another week
Happy WOYWW everyone.
Chris

  1. I love bleach stamping, not done it for a while but it is on my list as I have a B for Bleach thing to do this next week. I think a lot can depend on the cardstock you are using. Some bleaches better than others. Keep trying.

  11. We learn an amazing amount of things on woyyw don't we? And experimentation is always best, that way you know what works and what doesn't. I thought of you the other week when I saw on the UK news that a narrow boat was stuck in a lock!! Did you see that? Hopefully they got it out ok!

  13. That is something I would worry about, the thought of getting bleach on my precious stamps and stencils, but your results speak for themselves. I do like the ones with the brown card. The NEC is the only show within sensible travelling for me. All the others are just too far for travelling and fitting in in one day, and I do not like having to kennel the dogs too often. They are getting enough of that this year as it is. I have to say that the Clarity stand was my first and last port of call, with several other visit in between xx Maggie #8

  16. You got some great results...the bleach is really too runny for small images..works very well with solid stamps too - specially on really cheap sugar papers...you end up with some fab batik like effects. That rose looks good - bet you were pleased.
