Yes chaos on the desk, I'm trying to sort it all and Margaret will testify that I have put a lot of stuff out,. She had a rummage in the bag before I send it to the children's ward of our local hospital. But as usual that term 'sort' has beaten me, I just can't get to grips with how to separate it into different categories, die cuts and toppers are fairly simple, but bits of embossed card and bits that have stamping on them and bits to go on toppers and bits of master board, and I would need about 20 categories to sort it all, so is will go back in a box or a bag for further 'sorting' at a later stage.
The problem with sorting is also as I pick up a piece, and then another bit, my brain goes 'click!' I could make a card with those two bits and a bit out of the drawer, shall I put them on one side, or shall I make it now? Much more interesting than sorting to make it now, shove the unsorted stuff aside and make a card, like this.
Or this. Actually that looks quite pink there, and it really is very green.
And here are a couple of cards I made earlier in the sorting chaos.
So, why am I sharing all this nonsense with you?And here are a couple of cards I made earlier in the sorting chaos.
Because it is What's on Your Worktop Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Lady Julia over at The Stamping Ground. Do pop over and see lots of interesting desks there,
and thank you for dropping by here
and bless you if you comment,

I am so with you on this 'sorting' business.. takes forever and looks no different afterwards.
But we must stick at it ... I am really going to have a neat and tidy room .... honestly!
Happy 400th and have a good week

Tidy! if only but guess we have to keep trying Lol! Have a great woyww and a happy crafty week, Angela x 23
Lol, only us crafters can get into a sorting quandary like that!! I'm the same too when sorting out my fabrics - there could be a gazillion categories :-D
Lovely to see you on the desks today, thanks for the visit!
Hugs, LLJ 7 xxx
I just sort my snippets in to colour families periodically as it makes finding the right colour much easier. Smashing makes from you today too - love that flower stem die

while the sorting may not be progressing to your satisfaction the cards are lovely. I have a scraps box which is roughly colour sorted, must re do this actually!! If it's got bits on it you might use stick it in the scraps box and go there before any where else when card making. Good luck.
Hi Chris,
I have that happy birthday Die underused. For category sorting of small groups I use ziplock bags, ie baggies with a seal on it and as they're clear plastic you can see through them easily. Works a treat.
Much more fun to make a card though.
Do you have dates yet, and I can't recall, did you have a new house or move into??
Thanks for sharing your inspiration, happy WOYWW 400!

How to sort things is always a problem, with so many different kinds of things to sort! I have some clear plastic shoe boxes, and I have them labelled "paper" "plastic" "metal" Asstd". The paper is things made from paper, such as your paper towel piece, or flowers, etc. I also have small boxes about 5" tall from Michael's for small scraps that are labeled by color. Good luck with your sorting! Let us know what you did! Happy 400th, and thanks for sharing! Lindart #47
I know exactly what you mean about the sorting! One thing leads to another and do you keep trying to sort or do you go with inspiration and actually do something with your stuff? Anyway, your desk does not look like chaos to me, but, then again, if you are going to live on your boat for a while, you will need to be super organised and tidy. I do know this, because we have a boat too, although of an entirely different kind, and we usually spend two weeks on it during the Christmas/summer break. And I take a lot of stuff, but it has to be neatly contained in various hidey holes :)
Happy 400th woyww!
Hi Chris, Loving your cards.
I tend to sort into Animals, Butterflies, Flowers, etc., for papers, toppers and embellishments. Then I have wood mounted stamps in one place and clear stamps in another. I have a sideboard with the rest of my stash, as well as several storage boxes.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

You sound like me talking.... my 'sorting' is (not)organised in a same way... I start enthusiastic and in no-time I drown in my own categories and end up creating art journal pages with the things I found in the 'random box' (which still exists... I guess I will always have that 'random box' in my atelier - as you say, there's just too many categories to make it work.) Thanks for stopping by my desk last week, happy 400th and a hug from Holland, Marit #20
