Hi there all, really wanted to blog today, more to the point, I really wanted something to blog, and as Tuesday is a day when every one is out, I could use the dining room table all day, and do something I had been planning for days. So I started getting things out, all needing to be hauled out from under the bed.
And then I went back for the power cable, the plates, thecard, and the die I wanted to use. And that is where it all ground to a halt, couldn't find the die, I had it in my hand on Monday, and was absolutely sure I knew where I had put it, and with only two small boxes and a bag for all my craft stuff, it couldn't be very far.
Five hours later, I found it under the chest of drawers, but by then it was nearly supper time, and my worktop was no longer available.
I am so grateful to my daughter and her husband for giving us a home, when I couldn't possibly manage on the boat, but I do so want a craft room of my own. There is some good news on the house front, we have made an offer, subject to survey, on a house near Lincoln, with plenty of room for a dedicated craft room. The bad new is I can't see a quality craft shop in easy reach!!!
For those who want to know, I am making slow progress, walking with just a stick, and can do much that I want to do, but cannot walk too far without hurting. The range of movement in my arm is still very limited, I can't do my hair properly and certainly can't do my bra up behind my back. So there is still a long way to go.
So, enough of my boring crafters moan, take yourselves over to our host The wonderful Julia. There you will be able to see posts of really crafty blogs.
Bless you for reading and happy WOYWW
Chris
Sorry to hear your progress isn't as quick as you would want- but you are doing great really! hope you get to use the table soon and get done what you wanted! It is fab to see you, no matter what. Helen #1
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, lovely to see you back here. Great news on the house front; pity it's so far away, but if you and Adrian are boating in our neck of the woods you are welcome to visit the shed any time. Good to hear you are managing with a walking stick now, I do hope that the shoulder and arm won't hold you back for too much longer. Hugs and best wishes, Sarah #12
ReplyDeleteHow great to see you. It’s not a boring crafter’s moan, my gracious. Good about the mobility, but yes, you are definitely getting the ‘most patient patient’ award. It probably feels slower than it is, but this recovery lark will only happen when it wants to! Exciting to hear about a house, definitely got more fingers crossed for you. I understand your frustration at not being on the boat, and as you say, your daughter’s hospitality is kind and stellar, but the yearning to be in your own space is human nature. It won’t be long. Love to you both.
ReplyDeleteOh an eps! The embossing folder on my desk is a Stampin’Up model!
Hi Chris, it is lovely to see you here! Not moaning at all! I can understand all your frustrations. Mum is still not walking very much after her fall, she is not really doing well at all - but she is of course a lot older and has other health issues. Pleased to hear you have found a house and I hope that all goes through for you. take care and I hope you continue to make good progress. Anne x #15
ReplyDeleteOh it is good to see you on the desks today - frustration not withstanding. I really do understand your need for your own space again and am really happy that you may have found a property!! I loved LIncoln when I visited there a few years back, what a great part of the UK to be based. Fingers crossed it all goes well :-)

Ah a desk shot is a start, Chris, great indeed too on new house on offer, Lincoln is lovely area, I visited there last time I was in UK in 2012. It’s weird I’ve typed this last part three times now it kept disappearing not sure what is happening. Curious how crafty items grow legs and walk like that!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your great desky share... hope it warms up for you, I broke my right arm and was inpaste for eight weeks, lots of rehab to get movement back, it shard being patient. Hugs dear friend.

How frustrating that must have been! The problem with these slim products like dies andstencils, etc, is that they are so easy to lose! I'm sure I've accidentally thrown away some stencils that were stacked in a pile of paper. The only solution is to be super-organized when it comes to storage but that's not forte LOL. We've looked at some houses near Lincoln back in the summer before we bought this one near Worcester, but it would have been too far for my hubby to travel. Houses are so much less expensive up there! Hope it goes well for you and you get the craft room of your dreams! zsuzsa #16
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are on the right side, even if you still are in pain. You did have a very very bad fall remember.
ReplyDeleteSo are you not going to live on the canals then? Have I got my wires crossed? Anyhow, glad you have found somewhere you feel is right for you both.
Bit of a bother when you lose something and it takes a long time to find. Still, you got there.
Do take care
God Bless, Neet 4 xx
Aww I'm sorry to hear there are still some struggles for you.
ReplyDeleteAhh it is so frustrating when you misplace something you need. I hope you get some crafting done soon.

Hi Chris, lovely to see you here. Glad to hear you are on the mend, albeit slowly. Even though I haven't been crafting long, i would really miss my crafting space if i didn't ghave ave it now. Glad you found your little die in the end! Have a lovely week, Heather #6

Hi Chris, you're coming to Lincoln that's brilliant. I'm afraid we have lost the craft shops we used to have though there has been a mention that Hobbycraft may be going to open a shop. There is a shop in town that sells wool and fabric but not been in it yet and the Range is good for craft stuff too. Good luck with the offer. Have a lovely and creative woyww, Angela x12x
ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear from you again! I'm glad you are healing, however slowly, and that you will soon have a home and a craft room! I'm sure you are more than ready to settle down and be somewhere permanent. As for your die, sometimes I am convinced these things have legs, and wander off when we aren't looking - I have found so many things in such odd places! Have a wonderful week, and hope every day is a better day. Lindart #27
ReplyDeleteits good news you're making health progress, not moaning at all, take care,,,
ReplyDeleteHi Chris
ReplyDeleteThat white octagonal thing - it is by Making Memories - six sided, not that that matters - and I think they call it a carousel. I won it once when I went to CHA, in the good old days when they gave things away that were expensive(ish). I remember my friend in America telling me it wouldn't fit in my luggage, I made certain it did. I think you get them reasonably priced these days and you might see one on ebay.
I think someone makes a kit that is similar, if I remember who I will let you know.
Hugs, Neet xx
