Last week I showed you a pile of Christmas card bits, so this is what is on my desk Tuesday evening!
That is thirteen finished cards, and there at least 4 more part done, and all using stuff from the pile, which sadly still looks the same size. However, the hierarchy of waste management acknowledges that once the reuse option has been exhausted, recycling, in this case in the paper bin, is still acceptably environmentally satisfactory, so I think I need to be strong and dispose of it, and I can start using the new Christmas dies and stamps I have bought, with a clear conscience.
We still haven't got broadband, BT/OpenReach have not contacted us for 10 days now, I contacted Which legal team, but as I haven't paid any money, it seems a contract does not really exist, so they haven't broken a contract, and as they have a monopoly of provision of lines, we can't go elsewhere. Sooner or later it might get to a complaint to Ofcom.
Well that's me this week, thanks for dropping by, sorry I can't provide a cuppa for visitors, doesn't work on the "ether".If you want to see more crafty desks, nip over too our host Julia.
Bless you for coming
Chris
hope you get your broadband sorted soon, I would be lost!! Can't believe you are leaping into "C" mode so hard, lol!! but you're right, it will be here before we know it.... Helen #1
ReplyDeleteI think a line to Ofcom is certainly in order Chris. What a run around. I certainly wouldn't get my internet from BT once their line is in if they have mucked you around that much. I have to get at least one C card made this week for my sister to take out to my brother in Canada otherwise I won't be thinking about it until the end of September at the earliest. Have a good week. ReplyDeleteHi Chris, how annoying. That's the problem when a company has the monopoly though, isn't it? They know you can't go elsewhere, so can behave as badly as they like. I would definitely involve Ofcom, it's the only way to keep them in line. Love all the cards, great selection. I finally managed to convince myself it was ok to throw card/paper I'd worked on! Seemed totally wrong, but if I didn't like it, I knew I'd not use it, so it was just taking up space. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 XxX
ReplyDeleteOh Chris what a pain regarding your broadband, I have plenty but a rubbish laptop, maybe we could share and make our connection complete hee hee!! Hope you get it sorted soon, fingers crossed for you.
ReplyDeleteYou've made great way with those Christmas cards & don't beat on yourself about having to throw card away if recycled it comes back round to us again one way or another.

Wow, you have been productive! Oh broadband - what a nightmare it is! Good luck with BT - they have the monopoly round here too :/
ReplyDeleteA very happy WOYWW to you!

Oh how annoying and limiting for you - definitely complain - and log your actions up to now and onwards.
ReplyDeleteGreat lot of Christmas cards, you put me to shame but i do recycle and some of my cards will be going to Wales for upcycling by a mutual friend.
Have a nice week despite BT.
Blessings, Neet 4 xx
Great cards. I must not think about Christmas yet!! Karen 26

ReplyDeleteLovely cards, Chris! And how annoying the broadband still doesn't work. Hope it will get sorted soon though! Happy WOYWW xox Cheetarah #30

Hi Chris, not sure on the legal advice from Which. Money does not need to have been exchanged for a contract to be in place. If a contract has been signed then it's in place and if they have not performed, then they are in breach. I hope you get it sorted soon. The "C" cards are looking good! Have a lovely week Heather x #34
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, that is a lot of Christmas cards and a bit scary too as I haven't really started mine (just about half of one Lol!). Sorry to hear you still don't have your broadband, I can't believe how long it's taking. Have a great woyww and a lovely crafty week, Angela x17x
ReplyDeleteDon't even get me started on BT. We were with them for years - they charged us a disgusting amount and we never got the advertised speed. We were paying extra as we were running a business from home so supposedly better speeds and when our contract was up and we tried to move to a much cheaper and faster provider they refused to release the line - kept saying they had but they hadn't. It got to the pint it was affecting the business. Definitely get OFCOM involved as they will just mess you about.
ReplyDeleteThe cards look lovely - how weird does it feel to make them in this heat? :D
Have a lovely week,

Happy Belated WOYWW. What a lovely collection of Christmas cards. Although I said I was going to start my Christmas crafting this week, I haven't actually done any. Too busy with my new blog and business. Oh well, perhaps in September! Ali x #7
ReplyDeleteHi Chris. Only a day late!! One of these days you will have a phone AND broadband - understanding of course, that BT don't think you even have a phone... Hmmm - all those Christmas cards made out of the pile??? Do you mean to say I actually LEFT you a pile last year?? I thought I had used it all up, sorry!!
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Beautiful cards!!! I must spend some time going through my stash of recycling!!!
ReplyDeleteI hate having to chase up tradesmen, some of them have no idea how important some issues just are!
Hope you get sorted soon

What a lovely collection of cards, Chris. I hope you manage to sort your internet woes soon. Thank you for your visit and I'm glad you enjoyed my post, especially the kitties! As for the music, I got it as cast-offs from a friend of my hubby's who runs a sheet music business. He's got loads of vintage stuff and wanted to offload some redundant stuff he couldn't sell. I thought of altering at least one of the Scottish song books, but sensitively so it's not all covered up. As for the altered scrap-book paper, I've learnt the lesson never to throw anything away, however awful it is - you can always improve it! Sometimes the actual paper quality is exellent; it's just the printed design that's awful.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,

Hi Chris, thank you for your reply - you know what they say about mixed media: "When in doubt, add more layers!" Lol! If you aren't happy with your first efforts, just throw some more ink/paint or whatever at it!! Do show us your efforts.
