Well with weeks of enforced inactivity ahead, I have plans to tidy the tower, make lots of Easter cards, possibly some Christmas cards, and hubby decides we are going to work on the garden.
However with some Birthdays coming up, I struggled, in between helping lay turf, with a card for my nephew, age 44 (aren't men difficult) and by the end of the day there were three cards on my desk.
So as I struggling with this on my phone, tablet having a strip, I will finish with accouple of pictures from the windows of the tower.
If you are wondering why I am sharing my desk with the world, head over to Julia's The Stamping Ground to see lots more crafty desks.
Bless you all and keep safe in these difficult times
Chris
Morning Chris, glad you are finding things to keep you occupied and thanks for sharing the views from your tower! I agree about cards for men - the one for your nephew is looking great. Helen #5
ReplyDeleteGood to see you Chris. How about die cutting 44 if you have number dies and adding it to the centre of the weaving to finish the card. I like the weaving! Great views from the window. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #10
ReplyDeleteMorning Chris. Good to see you up in your tower. So, the turf is already laid... now why does that not surprise me?? The human doing still carrying on then!
ReplyDeleteI like the woven card - but then that's a favourite technique - I like the fact of it being spaced out...
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

Looks like a great beginning for the man card and I have to agree they are hard to make. I like Sarah's idea. Thanks for sharing your view it is always nice to see the vista from your desk/home.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and keep crafting.

Cards for men are difficult and probably my best sellers. From football, music, darts, diy. Lovely views from your tower. Keep safe and keep crafting. ANi#14
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of "a view from my tower"! You sound to be in the safest place. xx Jo
ReplyDeleteI love the views from your Ivory Tower!! I think that all our desks are going to be immaculate after this enforced period of isolation. You look after yourself, lovely gal.

Hi Chris, how fab to be able to say 'view from my tower', lol. Love the card on the left, fab job. Yes, mens cards can be difficult, especially if they are not the sports/cards/beer type, that seems to be all thats put out there for men. I often fall back on my Stampscapes stamps for them, I admit. Stay safe,Have a good week, Huge hugs, Shaz #1 X
ReplyDeleteI am rubbish at "men" cards!!Looks lovely where you are - even though we live in a small town, we have to be careful going out the front door as we have no front garden. Take care and Keep safe . love Soojay #21
ReplyDeleteSelf isolation is nothing new for me but I'm trying to stay in and keep well. I'm on day 8 of not going out at all but I have an acre of ground I can roam in if I want so I'm good.
ReplyDeleteStay safe!

Hi Chris. Loving the view from the tower as you know I normally see the tower from a different angle, always have a look to see if you're there when we pass. I think if I had the choice I would sooner make card than lay turf but needs must I guess. Take care, keep safe and craft on. Sending hugs, Angela x3x
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your desk. I am also making cards and working on other projects that have been on the back burner for awhile. Take care and stay safe. Dorlene #32
ReplyDeleteGreat busy desk! And I love the view from your tower!
ReplyDeleteHave a great and healthy week!

Yes men's cards are difficult. But I have come to realise over the years that most men don't care. So don't beat yourself up, they are not going to be critical!! Your views are lovely and calming. Happy WOYWW (I'm late I know) keep well, keep safe, Cindy #23
ReplyDeleteI think we over think mens cards and try to put as much on them as we would on a feminine one when they are quite happy just to know they are being thought of. Only yesterday I got a notice through Pinterest dealing with Men's Cards and they were so simple yet so effective. I think you have cracked it with the brown card in the forefront of your desk - it looks just perfect to me and is an idea I will copy if you don't mind.
ReplyDeleteLove the "view from my tower" idea which sounds like the title for a book. How lucky you are to have that beautiful tower to enjoy over the coming weeks, and maybe months. I bet you have found the canal very much changed as traffic will have stopped I suppose
Well Chris, keep on staying well and happy
Hugs Neet 7 xx
Loving the views from your tower. I struggle with Men's cards as well - I agree with Neet that less is more for them. Happy Belated WOYWW. Stay safe my friend. Take care, with love & God Bless, Caro xx (#15)
ReplyDeleteGood morning Chris! I like the cards. I like the idea of weaving on the front. I have some quilty friends that might like a card like that. I might have to give it a try. You have some lovely options to keep yourself busy. It's too cold here to work in our garden but I can't wait because it really relaxes me to be in nature. Today it might get warm enough for me to go sit on my deck for a bit to get some fresh air. My boys have been out of school since the 12th and the last time I left the house to go for a ride to the store was on the 16th. This is a very strange time indeed.
ReplyDeleteStay well, my friend.

View from the Tower is great isn’t it Chris..is that fancy new ironwork down there or have you spent hours painting it? Looks great. As for gardening...oh I feel your ‘dragged away from what you really want to do’....I’m not keen but I do like a neat a tidy garden. Mind you..not going as far as turf. Our ‘lawn’ is mostly moss. But it’s green and soft and actually quite cool to sit on, so I’m not vexed by it. Mr Dunnit is, but he hasn’t time to take the garage in hand, so he has to live with it!! I like the cards with the weaving (aren’t you patient) and I hope you got the one for Al in the post with satisfaction...I wonder if you did any more to it? See, I’m late, for which I blame having more time...sorry!
ReplyDeleteYour card weaving is fabulous! What a great idea. Nice views, too!
ReplyDeleteStay safe and well.
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #35
Lovely view from the tower must be nice to see the seasons change from one to the other from up there. I agree about mens cards, but I like the idea of the weaving. The Easter card shows a fab layout. Take care & carry on crafting.
