WOYWW

Well, another Wednesday has come and gone since I last posted, they keep sneaking up on me, and suddenly it is Thursday after Tuesday and I seem to miss Wednesday altogether.
I have very little on the card desk, barely been there for a week, instead I received a very heavy parcel before the weekend,  containing 2 curtains 4m wide and 4 m long and a request from my daughter to  make 8 curtains, 2m by 1.7m.
Have taken original curtains apart, and have all 8 ready for tape, but of course, I am now waiting for tape to arrive.
I currently only have enough tape for one pair.
In the meantime,  I have also been kept busy trying to prevent the house disappearing under dust as Adrian is busy converting a small shower room into a small utility room, and the larger utility room into a decent size bathroom.

So this will be a small utility room

And this will be a bathroom

by the end of next Wednesday,  or that's the theory.
So that's all from me this week,
Just time to refer you to desk queen Julia who hosts all our crafty desks, do visit her to find lots more exciting desks to snoop at.
Thanks for dropping by
Chris

  1. I hope the next time we see you, it isn't from under a pile of dust... it's raining here today so Mr D would be stuck inside (as I saw on FB recently that didn't stop him making mess....) Good luck with the curtains. Helen #2

  2. Good luck with the curtains (when the tape arrives), they're the thing I dislike doing the most! Your comment made me laugh, no I don't spend all my time sewing and yes, my poor boys are fed and watered!! But we don't watch telly until the evening and I pop in and out of the JanCave when I have a spare five minutes - some days though, I don't do a thing :-D

  3. Ah Chris, dust. I know it, have eaten it, collected it and lived with it. It’s hateful. Am super impressed that Adrian has set a finish date, now that’s never happened here! I know it will be worth it when it’s finished, (and it is), but oh the dust!! Meanwhile, good for you with the curtains. I can do it, and of course, would do if asked, but it would make my heart sink a bit, curtains arent my favourite job...although they are probably the easiest - its just the amount of fabric involved and the little tiny bit of math s you have to do that puts me off!! You are a great Mum to do them. Hope the next parcel is more interesting!

  4. It certainly looks like you and your hubby have more than enough going on at the moment. I hope you meet your next Wednesday deadline - I bet it will be lovely not having all that dust around - I really hate having building work done but it's always so worthwhile at the end of it all!
Hope you have a good week

  5. Good Luck with the curtains, I always took mine to my Mum, not something I think I could tackle.
I shouldn't worry about the dust until the work is finished, it's never ending is it!!
    Have a good week

  6. Converting rooms to another thing is so dusty for sure. The noise, the dust, the waiting time is kind of....... 😉

I do hope you get the tape soon, as I assume you would love to have the curtains done quickly? Good luck with everything

Thank you so much for sharing!

    Happy WOYWW

  8. Good luck with that Chris. Hope you get sorted soon. We have a large hole in the kitchen ceiling at the moment due to a leaking water pipe but you know what.....that's life Lol! Have a lovely and productive WOYWW, if you get the chance. Hugs, Angela x15x

  10. Hi Chris. It was good to chat the other day. Hope the plumber and electrician all come on time so your two rooms get sorted. I won't recognize the place when I am released to visit!!! Nearly didn't recognize the utility room as it is! All the best with it.Trust the curtains go well when the tape comes.
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

  11. Hi Chris, I know exactly what you mean about dust. I can never believe how bad it gets when any DIY is done! But it sounds like it will be a much better layout than the current one. Stay safe, have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 X

  12. Hope all the renovations go well and the dust disappears quickly. How would you like another parcel 0f curtains? I have had one of a pair waiting to be done as the tape is coming away due to perished thread. Now the other one has started falling apart! I must make a todo list🤣

  13. Gosh, how wonderful to have such a handy man as Adrian. Never mind the dust, just revel in the fact that you will be all posh before long.
Hope the curtain tape arrives before too long and you can send the curtains off and then get down to some enjoyable crafting.
    Blessings, Neet 11 xx
