WOYWW 269

Good morning all, and just look at my messy desk. Not much done this week, but at least I seem to have found a way to get the creative juices flowing. In a weak moment I agreed to do some alterations for someone. Well what a nightmare? They have taken much more work than I anticipated,  so I have been to and fro past the work numerous times and have had to discipline myself not to get side tracked into crafting, all the while the brain has been mulling over the task of finishing the cards and coming up with lots of ideas.

Anyway, at last yesterday I could play, so some of those ufos that I have been looking at all week have been finished, or nearly, and will be dealt wwith this morning.
So what can you see on the worktop? Oh look there is Max, pretending to sleep, but if I go more than a few steps away he would be off there in a flash asking 'Is it second breakfast time?'
Also on the glass mat are five cards, none of which you can see very well, so better picture here.
In the middle is the Christmas card I made with the stamping and colouring I showed you last week, with grateful thanks to Shaz in Aus for the idea of how to finish it.
Front right of top picture is some pretty ribbon I bought a week ago and haven't got round to putting away and at the back is my homemade gelli plate that hasn't come out of the container yet.
I'm sure you willl find some other interesting desk at our host, the lady Julia and her link to the crafting world.
Just before you go, I have decided to take part in the Summertime photography scavenger hunt, see link on lefthand side bottom, but if you want a laugh, click on the linnk top left and see avery non communicating notice.
Well that's all for now, thanks for visiting and I will get round to lots of desks eventually.
Well I seem to be having lots of trouble with technology this morning. I published my bolg but when I uploaded to Julia's it wasn't there so I will try again.
Bless you
Chris

WOYWW 268

Good morning and welcome to my rather vacant space!  What is happening on my work top this morning is very little.  Only one birthday that I have to make a significant card for between now and the beginning of October so I am taking the opportunity to start on Christmas cards
What you see is a stamped image,  heat embossed and some colouring with Promarkers. Not sure where I am going with it when the colouring is finished, I will get to that later.

Well that's me today folks, if you would like to see some more active desks, visit the wonderful Julia by clicking on the WOYWW button on the right hand side.
Thanks for all your visits and have a great day
Chris

WOYWW 267

Good morning lovely WOYWW people, and before I go any further lets do the housekeeping bit.
Emergency exits to your left and your right............ Ah that's not the kind of housekeeping I mean. If you arrived here by chance and wonder what WOYWW means, click on the widget at the side and you will go and visit the glorious WOYWW hostess, Julia where all will be explained.
Having got that bit out of the way I can procrastinate no longer, instead I have to hang my head in shame and show my mess, and mess it is.
This was yesterday morning and I was planning a major clear up because it had got so bad I had no room to put anything down so was resorting to putting stuff on the banister rail and the spare bed and the floor.
To be fair I sorted all the ribbons and put them away neatly, but then going through the blue boxes I found lots of UFOs in amongst the various bits, so I sort of fiddled and stuck a bit here and cut a bit there and waited for something to dry, and generally did very little tidying, in fact if anything I added more bits to the chaos.
Then hubby came home and we had supper and went out.

So the tidying didn't get finished, as a result this  is my desk on this bright Wednesday morning.
There's my well used Bigshot,  and beyond that, a selection of nearly finished objects, then the little box of bits, a tool box,an empty coke can and the ice cream box which has got Momento ink pads in it,  and at the far end there are still the two blue boxes which was what I started with. They end up with clutter being shovelled into them at the end of card club and, when I really clear up my worktop,I throw in all those things that do not have a real home.
So sorry there is nothing very exciting happening, and I have to do some sewing before I can get back to play and finish those UFOs.
Bless you for visiting and I will get back to you sometime.
Now I am off to see some happy desks
Happy Woyww
Chris

WOYWW 266

Welcome to Wednesday everyone, or Thursday if you are running late.
Lets get the housekeeping done first this week, if you haven't arrived at this blog via Julia's wonderful party where we all go to snoop at other people's desks, do take a look and see some wonderful crafting from all over the world.
Before I show you mine and then I look at yours, I have a bit of a confession to make. The ordination service was wonderful, the weather was not, so all our plans to take pictures on the lawn, outside the cathedral, were all washed away in the rain so we didn't get any of those 'proud mummy with clever daughter' pictures that we like to display around our homes. Instead, what I got was soaked as I was sent back to the car, without waterproof or umbrella, both left in the car, to get the picnic lunch, which didn't get eaten on the lawn, but in the conference centre, and I put camera in OH hand to take pictures and all he managed to get was pics of people eating.
So for all those people who said they couldn't wait to see the pictures, I'm sorry, the best I can offer is the diocesan informal post ordination picture: Judith is the one right next to the bishop with her hands in the air,
and then this one taken in her home later so that you can at least see the stole.
She doesn't get to wear it to the front until she is ordained priest next year, she is only a deacon at present.

Right so back to the main purpose of the party of deskers, what is on my desk this brightish Wednesday morning?
Well on Tuesday I went over to Margaret and John's for a bit of a play at the Northern lights technique.
So I did a couple of Northern lights and then we both played at sunsets, and then I did a bit of stamping and heat embossing with the free Indigo Blue dyes that came with a magazine recently. So now all the pieces are on my desk as I decide what to do with them.
Then, over on the righthand side you can see the doilies I dragged out of the cupboard to make a doily dress for a niece's birthday card, after seeing one on Gillian's  blog last week but the doilies I had were too big, so disappointing!
I feel a trip to Sainsbury's, to buy some smaller ones, coming on, but that's OK because the birthdays are two weeks away.
Well that's me for another week, bless you for visiting and have a great day blog hopping,
Chris

WOYWW 265

Well the ordination was wonderful, apart from the pouring rain,  pictures are on camera so will be shown next week.
So this week is Mum and Dad sorting out the new home, putting up shelves, emptying boxes, clearing the garden and generally running around; while they go off to work.
So emptying these is the first part of my day's work, then there are 15 more in her study, a kitchen to organise, (when they moved in her FiL simply emptied boxes into spaces so baking tins and alcohol are in the same cupboard), and the builders haven't finished so we are working around them as well.
Anyway I must get on, I will try to visit, but don't expect to have much time.
if you have arrived here in error and wondered why I am baring my soul, just click on the woyww widget and visit the wonderful Julia.
Bless you all
Chris
