WOYWW 280

Good morning lovely people and thank you for dropping in to see my desk. Not awfully exciting, but Margaret, John and I went to a Crafter's Companion demo at Holland Arms garden centre on Saturday, wonderful time, bought some dies and embossing folders so in between making a Ruby wedding Anniversary card for friends and lots of baking, I had abit of a play with the dies I bought.
Not sure what else is going to happen with these three Wise Men, but time will tell.
This is the other end of the surface showing my Tool box, and Christmas box and assorted clutter that hasn't been put away since we came back from holiday.
No chance of anything else happening here until after the weekend.

Once again I have agreed, mad fool that I am, to feed 30 hungry young people for a church weekend,  so today I will be shopping, making cakes and preparing vegetables for the sausage casserole and cottage pies for them. and making carrot and butternut squash soup.
And just to make your mouths water, this is what I did on Tuesday, ginger biscuits, mixed fruit biscuits and very crumbly chocolate chip cookies, (I think the recipe was wrong, not enough flour, but they taste good) all safely buried in the freezer away from tempted fingers.
And if you are wondering why this mad woman is rambling on about her desk, this is the day those of us with a creative bent can reveal all, so visit the desker extraordinary, the good lady Julia and poke around where souls are bared and some exciting creativity is on show.
So I will strive to visit as many desks as I can and  will certainly return visits if the technology allows. Unfortunately there are some frequent visitors, on whose desks I seem completely unable to leave comments, especially those using Google+. If that is you, I do appreciate your visits, but cannot comment on your beautiful work which is disappointing.
Anyway my cooker calls, off to make Marmalade cake and then head off to Sainsbury's for veg.
Bless you for dropping by
Chris

Morning, Chris. Glad to see you already trying out your purchases - I've been rather busy with a banner for Marian - but that's now done, handed over, and going into a huge suitcase as we speak! The team are away tomorrow at 6am!! There schedule is MANIC!!!!!!!! as usual!
Do trust the w/e goes well - you are very capable at this sort of thing, so I'm sure you will be fine.
Take care. God bless.

Hello Mrs D! I know exactly how you feel about feeding 30 people for a church weekend. We used to do this so often. It's a lot of work but great fun too.In our church (in UK) we had to cook and bake in the church kitchen and we both had to have 'Hygiene Certificates'. All this 'Health and Safety'..... I prefer to do the cooking in my own kitchen, which luckily we are allowed to do here in Spain.
I like those Three Wise Men stamps. They look quite big. Please show us the finisished product.
Thank you for letting me peep over your shoulder.

Yes, this link works.and there's no other showing up on the list..how odd!
Maramalade cake, homemade biscuits - no wonder they asked you! I've no doubt the three wise men will speak to you as the days go by - you're so involved elsewhere at the mo that your head needs time to 'walk around' them!

Ohh you've made my tummmy rumble, those biscuits look delicious. It sounds like you have a task on your hand there feeding so many people but I'm sure they will be very appreciative. I had to smile at your crumbly biscuits. I made scones the other week and forgot the egg but they tasted fine, that's the main thing isn't it?

Crumbs, no wonder you haven't any time for crafting this week. All that baking looks yummy - lucky youngsters! I like the sound of marmalade cake, too. Those wise men look good - I must look out for something Christmassy like that. Happy WOYWW, Chris # 16

Hi Chris, just popping back from InkyDinkyDoodle! I see what you mean when you said you were having trouble commenting on my blog. I came back to let you know that I got your message and as I was leaving the comment Google just threw me off and signed me out! Something funny's going on here and I'm not sure what. Our Google accounts may be incompatible with each other for some reason! Very weird! Anyway, I hope to see your desk again next week! Thanks for your visit and lovely comment! Take care!

Just recovering from drooling over the biscuits you baked so had to scroll up to see what I had forgotten about. LOL
Love those wise men, can imagine you making some lovely cards with them - and maybe a frieze for Church.

Sounds as if you had fun at the CC demo, Chris. As for the biscuits... I wish people would stop waving all this fabby looking food under my nose when I'm on a fasting day for the 5:2 diet lol lol! I had to avert my eyes!

Thanks for your visit and your lovely comment - I am beginning to have 2nd thoughts about the tolerability of the peppermint Gaviscon. It may not be 100% disgusting like the aniseed, but it is more like 95% disgusting - the peppermint isn't too bad, but the awful gloopy texture and the unpleasant aftertaste still have me reaching for a water chaser straight away! Yuk!! Glad you like my felt poppies. They are now attached to a hair clip and have some nice gold beads in their centres which really set them off. I shall be blogging about it very soon, as well as the Ampulla stuff just as soon as it arrives and I can start playing.

Happy belated WOYWW,

Some very lucky youngsters will be on the receiving end of all that lovely food - marmalade cake just sounds DELICIOUS. Not having a lot of luck with losing weight this month - have been off the booze for nearly 3 weeks and not lost an ounce. Hubby on the other hand has lost over 7 lbs. I think we can work out who has the alcohol problem...
anyhow glad you liked the flowers in a cup, yes they would be a good idea for someone in hospital. Thannks for the visit and have a good week, I am a bit late finishing off my visits!! Cindyx

WOW Ms D wish I was one of those 30 youngsters. I was looking at the Crafters's Companion site at those wisemen and had wondered if anyone I knew had bought them. I don't like a lot of thin dies but those look interesting. Have a great week and thanks for sharing. Vickie #76
