Wednesday is here again, another chance to visit

So my desk, late Tuesday evening.
At the back, the results of getting very messy with shaving foam, centre front is the making of a Christmas card and on the left is a card I made with one of the sentiments I showed you last week.
Those of you who dropped by at my desk last week may remember that rather superiorly I said the "estate" had kept me busy, so I thought I'd share some picture of said estate. Sorry Julia it is very picture heavy.

The "barge" tower, estate didn't know what else to call it, but we think it was built in the 50's, probably as some kind of studio.

The mooring, 120m, enough for 6 boats, may be some income there.

And this is the kitchen from the other end, all 34ft long, and when we moved in, all one room. Far too big so we built the library.
Last week I said we had been slaving in the garden, this is what we had to dig out and prepare for concreting, and this is what it looks like now.
So that's me for another week, and no we still don't have broadband, but complaint is written, just waiting for the "Man" to read it, correct it and then BT will get lambasted.

How lovely to see the pics of your estate! I am sure you will have it ship-shape in no time.... or maybe not! The size of the mooring is impressive, hope you can make good use of that; it sounds ideal

Not used shaving foam in that crafty way for ages, lovely backgrounds. You really do have a fabulous view, I can understand completely why you purchased. We live by a canal and a class mate's Father used to be the Lock Keeper, they lived in a huge yellow house with what seemed like hundreds of rooms but all so tiny, your kitchen is very very impressive.

What an interesting post! Thank you for sharing all your hard work and the why's. I think it would be marvellous if you could get those moorings earning for you ... think of all the new friends you would make and new moorings you would be able to use in return .... oooo my mind wanders ....

Hi Chris, lovely to see the inside of the house. I seem to remember that the house was renovated at some time or extended. I hadn't realised just how much mooring there was, definitely sounds like chance of income there. It's strange but I thought they used to have a pool that backed up to the tower before the park home arrived but I could have imagined it. The tower has been there as long as I can remember. Though we haven't always lived in Lincoln my parents used to pass it on our way to Skegness which would have been early 60's and it was there then. I am so pleased you are settling in it looks like a great house. As soon as I get mum sorted and things calm down we must meet up. For now have a happy woyww, Angela x12x

Happy WOYWW. Your kitchen is huge - and the rest of the estate. Wonderful to have those moorings and, yes, you could definitely make some money there. How about some craft workshops/holidays? I am looking for a property in Spain that has some space suitable to hold workshops, as there seems to be a demand for that out there. Ali x #16

Sorry I'm late replying, I was out all day on a WI Trip! Thanks for all those pics, I can see why you bought the house now, it's the perfect spot for boaties like you! You have a lot of work to do, that's going to keep you busy for a while but I'm glad you still have time for crafting!

I didnt have my glasses on and thought the shaving foam papers were covered in petals. It looks great with and without glasses! Facinating pics of the estate! My word that kitchen, you could do your daily steps just tidying up after a meal, fab size, but I particularly like the library, great way to use up some space! So will the outdoor loos and shower be useful if you rents out the mooring spaces or is it just an old block with not much use. Looks as if you could host a fleet! Backbreaking garden works Chris I was thinking of you!

My goodness, Chris, your place is fabulous! And right on the canal... Narrow boats are just great. Have to get you doing narrow boat painting next... I love your beautiful shaving foam backgrounds. What a lovely post! I really enjoyed reading it. Thank you for your visit and I smiled at your comment about kitties! Yes, they are notorious for this kind of behaviour. Ruby seems worse at it than Lily, but I suppose kitty unpredictability is part of the rich fabric of life and we do laugh at her, with her ever changing whims! They usually change their eating habits just after you’ve bought an enormous supply, as well...

Hi Chris, I have made it back to the land of Broadband so catching up on my visits (I do feel for you!). Thanks for popping in already. That barge tower looks like it could be a lovely spot for a studio when you eventually have time to do something with it. If you have plenty of parking space then i don't see why you shouldn't earn an income from having one or two extra private mooring spots. Have a great week. Sarah #19
Thanks for the tour! the Barge Tower, you said might have been a studio at one time - is it salvageable? Could you turn it into a studio for you? I love the view of the canal, but not sure of the outside bathroom/shower. . .will it get cold in the winter? The kitchen is HUGE! and bright, really nice.
