WOYWW 557

Well it is 4 months since I last managed to actually get a post up, life just seems to be full of insignificant things that get in the way of sharing what is on my desk.

But here goes, not very exciting 3 unfinished cards and the various detritus of making cards. The card in the centre front is another "Thinking of you" cards that I prefer to send rather than "Sympathy" cards, and I seem to need these more and more, so I am trying to build up a stock, and the unfinished one behind has the message is "You are in our thoughts and prayers" so also suitable as a sympathy card when finished. And the sunflower on the left back, I am hoping for inspiration about what to do with it next.
So that's me, and if you wonder why I am sharing this,  pop over to Desk queen Julia's Stamping ground to see some more crafty desks,
Thank you visiting and I wil try to return the visit if you give me sufficient information.
Bless you
Chris

How lovely to see you Chris! As long as life isn’t treating you badly and it’s not four months since you were last able to get to your desk, I say all is good! That sunflower is a lovely image. Of course I have nothing to add, I rely utterly on others for inspiration! The need for sympathy type cards seems never ending sometimes doesn’t it. I remember that after my father died I was cross about the arrival of these cards, dismissed them as a knee jerk, commercial reaction. Of course, after my shock had worn off, I found them incredibly moving and comforting. Once you’ve had the experience, they are all the more important to send aren’t they.

Such a lovely spot to play, love the image at front indeedy! I find large images like sunflower on left tricky too, but it is very lovely, so am sure it will make a nice card, agree re sympathy card .. am off to bed now as its almost 10pm, pray each day for your shoulder to improve.
Happy WOYWW. Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too.

It's so lovely to see you on the desks again Chris, hope you're well and happy in your canalside home! I love that big foiled flower, so lovely and I think the sunflower can stand up for itself, I don't think it needs anything else apart from your sentiment of choice.

Hi Chris, where does the time go! The golden leaf looks gorgeous and the sunflower too. Sadly I understand what you're saying about Sympathy cards. Last year we went to five funerals but they were for people who had long happy lives so not quite as sad as they might have been. Wishing you a happy crafty woyww, Angela x12x

At least you were only MIA for 4 months... I think mine feels like 4 years! Ive moved counties and am no longer working, so now have to time to desk surf and comment. So I too am back. I always felt that in order to participate in something like this one needs to spend the time visiting all (or as many as possible) desks...

Hi Chris, lovely cards, perfect for the reason. Love the foiled one at the front, and the colouring of the sunflower is gorgeous. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #6 X

That large leaf at the front hit me straight away - it is beautiful Chris. Is it die cut or foiled? Whatever you did it with it is fabulous and looks great against the black background. Love your other cards too, especially the striped one with the tree.
I am with you on the "thinking of you" - it sounds much nicer than the commercial wording that we are all so used to and with you on hearing more and more that these cards are needed but guess that comes as one gets that bit older.
Have a good week, are you enjoying your new life by the canal?
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
