WOYWW 211

My worktop this week is a bit different from normal as I am trying to make a few Christmas cards in the motorhome whilst DH is in hospital. (This is also, of course my worktop on Tuesday, not Wednesday as no-one would get to see it at all if I waited until Wednesday to try and write this). Still the same mess my worktop always is, but rather smaller and working with a very limited amount of equipment and material. I found it very hard limiting myself to one A4 box of materials and realise that I have not included any mirror card or other card for matting and layering, nor have I any card for making other than A6 cards. I did do some retail therapy whilst himself was in hospital but that ended up with me buying stuff that I can't use here anyway, like the Xcut cutters in the background. Would have been foolish not too when they were reduced from £24.99 to £5.99, but no use to me here. Might have to do more therapy tomorrow. Unfortunately I have had to pack up everything as I wish to go to bed tonight and  those who know caravans will know that it is not possible to leave stuff out overnight in a van unless you want to sleep standing up.
Here I must say an incredible big 'THANK YOU' to all those who have been praying and sending me messages via Margaret whilst DH has been in hospital, he still is, but your love, for someone you have never met, except on here, has been overwhelming. I didn't know such love and care could carry me through all this and your prayers have been so uplifting. We are still not sure when he will be coming out of hospital, the messages we are getting have been very mixed.
The hospital at Papworth is wonderful, mainly the staff are brilliant and the setting is glorious, picture on left is from the grounds of the hospital, we saw a woodpecker the other day and there is a lake with loads of ducks and a black swan. It is just so beautiful and the powers that be think they can replace it on the edge of farmland in Cambridge on the Addenbrooks site. Not going to be anything like as calming for relatives and I can't imagine the patients are going to enjoy a walk around the car park in the same way as they enjoy a walk around the lake.
Well it is bedtime and I have to finish clearing stuff away before I can get my bed sorted out and I do need my sleep.

Sending love and prayers to you and hubby. Go and do some more retail therapy and get some things that you can enjoy and use whilst you are in the motorhome. I would of also purchased those items at that price, so good for you.

Christmas and limited stash is certainly enough of a challenge to keep your mind diverted1 Hope the worry has eased slightly as the days have moved forward. I agree, the grounds of the hospital look quite beautiful, really tranquil..ha to be a huge plus for patients.

Hope that your DH continues to improve, you'll be in my thoughts. What wonderful surroundings for a hospital, I agree that a car park wouldn't be as therapeutic! I craft in the campervan so I know what you mean about having to put everything away if you want to go to bed! Happy (late) WOYWW. Pam#38

With limited stuff you are still making great cards there, Chris! I am keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers and watching for updates. The hospital grounds are absolutely serene and I agree with you about how dumb it would be not to have that location for patients and families. Oh, if only we were in charge of these decisions!!

Continued get well wishes to Mr. D. and continued super buys to you during your required retail therapy!! Happy WOYWW! Darnell #20

Your cards are looking great despite living in a cramped space and having all the anxiety of having a loved one in hospital. Praying for you all.

Because their blog needs Adobe, I can't commnet over at glitter and glue (Adobe Flash not available for ipad). When you next speak, can you please say that I've tried. I wanted to say something along the lines..that while she's busy staying at your place and calling me fabulous, she's being the MOST fabulous friend to you, and all of us deskers love her for that.

Thanks Shaz for all your prayers and support. It has been amazing the way people who have prayed for someone they have never met and probably never will, but you and so many others in blogland have called out to the Lord on our behalf and we feel very loved both by the Lord and his people.

Thanks Julia, yes she is indeed a fabulous friend, I don't think I would have got through this without her. It is just amazing how much love people have shown us during this difficult time and thank you for hosting us all.

I had no trouble seeing your blog, or those gorgeous trees on your Christmas cards. I am a tree nut when it comes to Christmas, and I want to copy that one with the red tree. I love the design AND the concept. Have a super slightly late WOYWW from #17.

Thank you Elizabeth and Bleubeard. The red tree card started out completely differently and morphed into the final over several attempts. The red tree itself is just a gift tag from the Co-operative, reduced to 35p for 6 in January last year. I saw them and thought the would make very good toppers for Christmas cards.
Give bleubeard a hug for me, I am yearning to be back home and collect my Max from the cattery and give him lots of cuddles.
